Volume 1 is packed with highly visual features on topics such as Ralph Lauren’s sponsorship of Wimbledon, Indian doubles icon Rohan Bopanna, and Stuttgart’s BOSS Open ATP event, as well as essays on Sigmund Freud and tennis’ problem with nostalgia. It also contains photographic contributions from Marcelo Gomes, Lottermann & Fuentes, Tom Parker, and Vicente Muñoz, and presents the tennis-themed work of painter Eddie Martinez. The magazine showcases art, photography and writing from contributors including Raphael Abraham, arts editor of the Financial Times; writer Lydia Horne; multi-award-winning photographer Clive Brunskill; Brain Dead co-founder and creative director Kyle Ng; and Defector staff writer and longtime TSS collaborator Giri Nathan.
